Public Inquiry: Inspectors Report Issued to the Secretary of State
The public inquiry concluded on 8th October 2008. The Department for Communities and Local government confirmed on 26th February 2009 that the Inspector’s Report has been received within the Planning Central Casework division. The Secretary of State will make a decision in due course.
Major Scheme Business Case

Town Centre Improvements
Improvements to the Market Place have been completed and work will continue to explore the options for Maristow Street and High Street/Edward Street. Public consultation is currently being planned and details will be posted locally.
Following the 2007 exhibition town centre improvement schemes linked to the bypass funding bid have been reviewed to include the views expressed by the public. Discussions continue with the Town Council to refine the proposals.
